Though he allegedly won't move too far

The rumours about Bryan Mbeumo's departure from Brentford are getting louder, hinting at parting ways after six years. According to The Telegraph, Newcastle are seriously interested in the forward, as Eddie Howe is his huge fan, though the problem could be the finances.

Namely, the Bees bought the Cameroonian from the French Troyes for €6.5 million in 2019, and now they are demanding around €70 million, which is not a reasonable amount for the Magpies.

Newcastle reportedly want to increase competition in the attack regardless of Alexander Isak's future, as they are also interested in arguably the most wanted Premier League player at the moment - Ipswich Town's Liam Delap.

Even the Bees' boss, Thomas Frank, couldn't rule out Mbeumo's departure, claiming that the player feels fantastic at Gtech Community Stadium.

"I am the head coach, I want all of my best players to stay forever. I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford. He is thriving, he is doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future? I don't know. Of course, if the right price, that is going to be expensive. I'm pretty sure the club will be open for it. But I'm very happy he is here and also convinced that Bryan will still be happy here at the football club," the Dane said via The Telegraph.

Since joining Brentford, Mbeumo has made 237 appearances, scoring 68 goals and 49 assists. This season, he has netted 18 times and assisted for seven goals, creating one of the most lethal partnerships in England with the Congolese Yoane Wissa. The duo has combined for 35 goals, bagging more than half of the team's goals in all competitions (62).
