Ahead of their match against Bandari on Wednesday, 15 October, Omune exuded confidence of beating Bandari after their recent meeting with the Mombasa-based side during the ODM@20 Tournament staged at Mbaraki Stadium, where Leopards narrowly lost to Bandari on post-match penalties in the semifinals.

According to the experienced forward who returned after missing the opening two matches of the campaign, that encounter offered invaluable insight into Bandari’s game plan ahead of the league showdown.

"Facing Bandari the other day is advantageous to us because we now know how to tackle them. We have analysed their strengths and weaknesses, which will be vital for us,” Omune told the club’s media during a pre-match interview.

Apart from drawing confidence from that tournament, the Leopards skipper also urged the club’s faithful to turn up in large numbers and back the team as they seek their first win of the season.

He called on fans to remain patient and supportive despite the slow start.

"To the fans, I call upon you to come out in numbers and be patient. Not all teams start well; we’ve just started on the wrong foot, but that doesn’t make us a bad team.

Come in your numbers tomorrow (Wednesday) because we will give our best to win the match,” he said.

His sentiments were echoed by assistant coach Kennedy Wendo, who also rallied the fans not to lose faith in the team.

"I call upon the fans not to give up on supporting us. Good things take time to build. I understand this is a big club that comes with pressure, but we will keep working hard, minimise mistakes, and hopefully deliver,” Wendo remarked.

Wendo termed the Bandari fixture a must-win as Leopards seek to end a frustrating run of two consecutive draws, first against Sofapaka, then Posta Rangers, where Ingwe twice squandered leads to share the spoils with the Mailmen, a fact which he admits cost them the league title last season after registering numerous draws.

"The boys know what needs to be done. The draws have been costly for us, especially last season, so we must start winning beginning with tomorrow’s match,” stated the former Tusker FC and AFC Leopards forward.

Leopards have been boosted ahead of the tie with Omune, and Collins Koloti fully recovered and available for selection, though defender Fredrick Alushula remains sidelined as he continues his rehabilitation.

"We don’t have major injury concerns. Omune and Koloti are back, but Alushula is still unavailable as he continues recovery,” Wendo confirmed.
