Leopards are yet to score a goal in the new season leave alone winning a duel
Scores of AFC Leopards fans made their feelings known to the technical bench and management after the team lost 1-0 to KCB on Friday at the Kasarani Stadium.
The result, saw Leopards taste defeat for the first time in the season, attracting the wrath of the Ingwe diehards who channeled their anger to the team after the final whistle.
Leopards were looking to beat KCB and register a win for the first time in the season having played FC Talanta to a barren draw in the opener.
However, KCB won the battle for the den courtesy of Derrick Otanga’s second half strike that saw the bankers kick their season on a positive note.
Tens of Leopards fans directed all manner of bitter words to Leopards head coach Tom Juma when he was doing his media duties with some calling for his resignation.
It took the intervention of Leopards secretary general Gilbert Andugu to calm the fans who didn’t spare the playing unit for putting a lackadaisical show in the past two rounds.
Juma, who succeeded Patrick Aussems said he was used to pressure and exuded confidence in arresting Ingwe’s poor start after the FIFA international break.
“I have been under pressure to produce positive results in all my life,” said Juma.
The former midfielder suggested that hard work was enough to get the team back on track.
“We have to keep on working. Teams lose games, that’s football. I know its painful but that’s the truth,” he shared his thoughts.
Asked on what cost the team three points in the past two rounds, Juma regretted that the forward line wasn’t as sharp as he wanted.
Leopards are yet to score a goal in the new season leave alone winning a duel. The team failed to get the ball past the line in game one against ten-man FC Talanta.
“We need to score goals. That’s the only thing we haven’t done so far. It means there is work to be done especially on the forward line,” he added.
