The experienced Harambee Stars left-back took to his official Facebook page to pen an emotional farewell message, effectively confirming his imminent return to FKF Premier League rivals Tusker FC after 13 years away.

In his heartfelt message, Abud reflected on the unforgettable memories he created at Kenya Police, thanking everyone associated with the club for the support they accorded him during one of the most successful periods of his career.

"It’s with a heavy heart that I write this farewell to one of the most amazing teams I’ve ever had the privilege to play for in Kenya.

Three unforgettable years, countless memories, incredible teammates, and trophies we proudly won together. Every moment has shaped me, both as a footballer and as a person.

As every chapter comes to an end, it’s time for us to part ways. This isn’t goodbye—it’s simply ‘see you again.’ I truly believe our paths will cross again in the future.

To my teammates, coaches, management, the fans, and everyone at Kenya Police FC, thank you for believing in me and for making these three years so special. I will always be grateful.

Gracias, Kenya Police FC. Once Police, always Police,” he wrote.

Abud leaves Police, having played a pivotal role in the club's rise into one of the country's dominant forces.

His leadership, experience and consistency at left-back and centre-back were instrumental as Police lifted their maiden major trophy, the 2023/24 Mozzart Bet Cup, before going on to make history by clinching their first-ever FKF Premier League title in the 2024/25 campaign.

His outstanding performances during the just-concluded season also earned him the club's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, underlining the influence he had both on and off the pitch.

The 33-year-old returns to the Brewers, the club where he established himself as one of Kenya's finest full-backs after joining from Bandari in 2013.

During his first spell with Tusker, he won two FKF Top 8 titles while producing consistently impressive displays that earned him regular Harambee Stars call-ups.

His arrival is expected to strengthen Tusker's defensive ranks as the Ruaraka-based side intensifies preparations for the new campaign, with the 12-time league champions determined to end a five-year wait for the FKFPL title and re-establish themselves as the country's dominant force.
