He bagged bronze at the Commonwealth Games on Sunday evening.
After bagging bronze with a massive season best throw of 85.70m former world champion Julius Yego says he wants medals in Budapest and Paris before heading to retirement.
Yego went to the Commonwealth Games that end on Monday 8 August in Birmingham on the back of a poor season, having not reached the 80m mark in any of his throws.

However, on the final night of action for the Athletics program, the African Champion hurled a massive 85.70m on first attempt to move into the silver medal position but was later relegated to bronze.
"It has been a successful season for me. I have been struggling but the year has ended well for me with this bronze. I love the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. It is where I threw my over 90m distance in 2015 and I knew the crown would push us," offered Yego.
He registered no throws in his second to fifth attempt but managed a 82.68 m throw which would still have won him bronze even without his first attempt.
Pakistani thrower Arshad Nadeem got gold with a 90.18m personal best throw, on his fifth attempt, breaking the Games Record.
World champion Anderson Peters settled for silver in 88.64m achieved with his fifth attempt, improving on his bronze from 2018.
"With the level of competition and the talents we had on that field I am really excited. I know many had written me off because of the level of fitness I have had for the last four years.
A bronze and season best is a great result for Julius Yego, given his woes. #TeamKenya

After such a conclusion to my season I will take a break before getting back to training with the focus on next year's world championships," Yego added.
While admiting that this is likely his last Commonwealth Games as he will not be in top form four years from now, Yego who has indicated plans of retiring after the Paris 2024 Olympics says he wants to end his career with medals.
"I am happy to have finished the season healthy and I can shift focus to the next two assignments. I hope to remain as healthy as I am and fight to get to the podium on those two events."
