The qualifying time for men to the Games I set at 45 seconds
Zablon Ekwam celebrated two milestones in finishing fourth in the men's 400m at the fifth Kip Keino Classic held on Saturday 20 April at Nyayo Stadium.
A somewhat disappointing result at face value, it was, however, one of Ekwam's biggest races as he clocked 44.69 to book his ticket to Paris Olympics.

The time was also a personal best (PB) for the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) athlete who was part of Team Kenya that registered an African record in the 4x400m relay barely a fortnight ago.
"The Olympics is an event where every athlete yearns to be.Being an Olympian is the best feeling in the world.I am happy that I have added the initials(Oly) to my name," an elated Ekwam told the press.
"Qualifying is an achievement worth celebrating. I thank everyone who has supported me this far. I hope to give my best in the Games," he added.
