The Kenyan clocked 3:51.07 in Monaco last year.
Multiple Olympics and World Champion Faith Kipyegon will be among star attractions when the Wanda Diamond League circuit makes a stop in the mythical French city of Monaco August 10th. A host of tried and tested athletes as well as freshly minted gold medalists like former Kenyan Norah Jeruto have been drafted in the 10th leg of the Diamond League.
Last year, Kipyegon clocked 3:51.07 to claim victory in Monaco missing Genzebe Dibaba's World Record by just a second before clocking 3:58.33 in the final in Zurich, and she will be looking to produce a similar or better performance coming on the back of a World Championship title.

Faith Kipyegon reigns supreme in Monaco with a 3:51.07 world lead and Kenyan national record, the fastest 1500m time since 2015.
She moves to fourth on the all-time world lists.
Upon her return from Oregon, USA, Kipyegon made it clear that her focus shifts to the world record, with Monaco being a good place to give it a shot given her performance last year.
"I am so grateful and looking forward to becoming the Greatest of all Time in 1500m. My target is to now get the world record. The hard work will continues and I pray that I remain injury free and mentally strong. In the next two weeks, I'm going for the Diamond League in Monaco which is a very fast track and I'm looking forward to racing there for the second time," she said.
The 28-year-old stormed to victory in Oregon last week after clocking 3:52.96 ahead of Ethiopia's Gudaf Tsegay to reclaim the World Championship title she lost to Sifan Hassan in the 2019 games in Doha.

Kenyan-born Norah Jeruto will take on the 3000m steeplechase track with hopes of defending her title as well.
Just weeks after she stunned the world with another world record-breaking run at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, 400m hurdles superstar Sydney McLaughlin is set to make her first Wanda Diamond League appearance since winning the Diamond Trophy in 2019.
Jamaican 100m and 200m gold medallists Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson will go head to head in the 100m, with both hoping to pick up crucial points as they look to lock down their place in this year's Wanda Diamond League Final.
