The meet came three weeks after the World Athletics Championships concluded in Tokyo, and the multiple world champion returned to the Big Apple in stunning form, having produced one of the most dominant seasons of her career.

Kipyegon timed her race well, patiently waiting as rival Gudaf Tsegay led the field after going out quick. The 1500m world record holder struck at the 1100m mark, putting daylight between her and the pursuing quartet for a dominant victory.

The victory takes her winning tally over Tsegay to 19-0, as the Ethiopian clocked 4:19.75 for second place, with American champion Nikki Hiltz timing 4:32.51 for third.

Freweyni Hailu (4:33.20) and Kenya's national indoor mile record holder Susan Ejore-Sanders (4:33.31) completed the field in fourth and fifth place respectively.

The competition featured six races, with American sprints sensation Brittany Brown storming to a double with a Season's Best (SB) of 10.99 seconds in the women's 100m to finish ahead of Jacious Sears (11.01), and Kayla White (11.22).

In the 200m, Brown torched the field for a meeting record and a new Personal Best (PB) of 21.89 seconds for her third Athlos crown.

She finished ahead of Anavia Battle who timed 22.21 seconds, while Marie Josée Ta Lou-Smith was third in 22.65 seconds.

The women’s 400m crown went to Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino in 50.07, with Paris silver medalist Salwa Eid Naser finishing second in 50.94. Norway’s Henriette Jaeger was third in 51.24.

Another Olympic champion, Keely Hodgkinson, in only her fourth race of the season, won the 800m in 1:56.53 ahead of teammate and Worlds silver medalist Georgia Hunter Bell (1:58.33) and Shafiqua Maloney (1:58.57).
