He will be in action in the men's 4x400m relay.

Kenya's sole representative in the men's 400m final at the ongoing Commonwealth Games Boniface Mweresa had a good race dipping under 45 seconds but it was not enough to gift him a medal as he settled for fourth place.

The 27-year old who anchored the 4x400m team to the final set for later in the day started his race well and was well on his way to a podium place with less than 100m left to run.

However, the African champion, Zambia's Muzala Samukonga unleashed a killer finishing kick, moving from fifth place at the final bend to win the race in a personal best time of 44.66 seconds.

Mathew Husdon-Smith running infront of a home crowd looked well on his way to bagging gold but could not muster the strength in the last 10m or so to outdo the Zambian who came flying past the leading pack for hold.

Smith settled for silver in 44.81 seconds with Barbados' Jonathan Jones out-dipping the Kenyan on the line for bronze in 44.89 seconds.

Mweresa clocked 44.96 seconds, going under 45 seconds for the first time. He will be in action later in the day as Kenya chases a place in the podium in the relay.
