Chelimo lines up against Niyonsaba, Hassan in Lausanne DL

The Friday leg paves way for the last two events of the series set for Brussels and Zurich in September

World athletics bronze medalist in 10,000m Magret Chelimo is set for action on Friday 26 August as the Wanda Diamond League heads to the Athletissima meeting in Lausanne. 

With world titles won and continental crowns claimed, many of the sport’s stars will clash for points that see them make the list for the final round in Zurich. 

Chelimo has dropped down to the 3000m where she faces off with last year's Diamond League winner in the distance Francine Niyonsaba

Dutch star Sifan Hassan who has raced sparingly this year, following a full-on 2021 in which she won Olympic titles in the 5000m and 10,000m as well as bronze in the 1500m is also set to compete in the distance. 

The 29-year-old still finished fourth and sixth in the 10,000m and 5000m respectively at the World Championships in Oregon and will be making her second appearance of the season in the Diamond League race this season. 

Ethiopia’s world 5km record-holder and world indoor 3000m bronze medallist Ejgayehu Taye, Commonwealth 1500m champion Laura Muir, Kenya's Caroline Chepkoech KipkiruiFantu Worku and Jessica Hull all line up for the race
