Remember the boy recorded running to school alongside some marathon athletes who were training? Yes, the one that went viral? That one. Dennis Cheruiyot is his name and he could just be on his way to stardom.

Sometimes, good things can come in the most unprecedented ways and for a young Cheruiyot, all indicators point that they may come through Neto Goncalves, the Brazilian athletics coach who filmed the viral video.

Barely a week after filming that video, Goncalves met with Cheruiyot and had him under his ings in training, this time in a proper athletics track and in proper training gear.

In an Instagram post, Goncalves expressed his pleasure at meeting the form three student at Kiplombe High School adding that Cheruiyot had taught him a lot about determination and the will to win.

“I had the opportunity to meet the boy Dennis Cheruiyot personally and get to know a little about his life. Dennis is a form three student at Kiplombe High School and last week I made a video of him running to school, taking a 'ride' with the marathon athletes in training.

Dennis told me that he loves sports, especially athletics, and dreams of being a champion and he will dedicate a lot to that. He also said that today (yesterday) is the first time that he run on an athletics track,” Goncalves wrote.

On his part, Cheruiyot was elated to train with the Brazillian coach, adding that he has a passion for running.

"My name is Dennis and I am training with this Brazilian coach. I have the passion of running and I thank God for it," the 20-year-old said.

Earlier, Tuko reported that Cheruiyot has not had it all rosy as he was forced to move out of home due to a disagreement with his family and now lives in a shack next to Kiplombe Cemetery.

The publication went ahead to state that he has to rely on menial jobs to cater for his school fee as well as for his upkeep, getting little support from his elder siblings and uncles, and will have little or no rest this short holiday as he will be looking for money to sustain him as he tackles form four when schools reopen.

"Raising school fees has always been an issue for me, sometimes my family helps out especially my elder siblings and uncles. However, most of the time I have to do some construction jobs over the weekend to get some little income. I accept I can't change the situation that I am in at the moment but I believe my hard work and talent will one day pay of," he told the publication.

According to reliable sources, world's leading sporting brand Nike is set to take up the youngster in their stable.
