In her previous races in Seville, the 25-year-old has finished second and third

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Beatrice Chebet will make her return to action at the Italica International Cross Country race in Santiponce, Seville on 17 November.

Chebet, who shocked the world with a 5000m and 10000 double at the Olympic Games in Paris, last competed at the season-ending Brussels Diamond League on 14 September, where she won the 5000m crown in a time of 14:09.82.

In between that, she has gone on to be awarded the prestigious Golden Plate Award in an achievement dinner held in York month.

In Santiponce, Chebet will begin as one of the favourites for the 9.9km race featuring in the World Athletics Cross Country Tour.

In her previous attempts, the 24-year-old has finished runner-up in 2020, before coming third in 2021.

She will face Kazakhstan's Daisy Jepkemei, who took a magnificent win at the cross-country leg in Atapuerca last weekend.

Also in contention is Frenchwoman Alice Finot, who settled on a European record on track at the Paris Olympic Games.

Kenya's Diana Chepkemoi and Uganda's Charity Cherop will also be in action as Chebet signals a return that in 2023 yielded a world road running championship (5km) in Riga, and a world record over the same distance in Barcelona.
