The match is a repeat of last season’s final that saw Mwamba edge Impala 15-11 to be crowned inaugural winners of the Women's Kenya Cup.
Mwamba RFC and Impala Roans are set to renew their rivalry once again in the 2023 Championship decider when they meet in this season’s Women’s Kenya Cup final set to be staged at the Impala Club on Saturday 11 March 2023.
The two sides, having been a cut above the rest this season, rightfully secured their places in the title decider after emerging unscathed from their semifinal fixtures.

Mwamba, the defending champions, defeated Western Spears 38-7 as last year’s losing finalists Impala were 26-5 winners over Northern Suburbs to set up the repeat of last season’s finale.
In what was the inaugural edition of the tournament, Mwamba recorded a 15-11 victory over Impala to become the first ever winners of the competition.
Heading into the match, Mwamba will be eyeing revenge when they take on Impala who handed them their only loss of the season when they defeated the Black shirts 28-17 at the Impala Club on Saturday 28 January 2023.
Losing semifinalists Western Spears will host Northern Suburbs in the third place playoff at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday.
