Wasps buzzing ahead of Machine clash

Winner of the tie will meet MMUST the following weekend in Kakamega for the all important Kenya Cup berth
Finally, after a pandemic enforced ten-month hiatus, the much awaited rugby season resumes on Saturday February 6th with Kenya Cup promotion play-off pitting fallen giants Mean Machine and industrious Egerton Wasps.
The Wasps are buzzing with confidence in their quest for promotion. However, standing in their way are the University of Nairobi outfit after which another date with MMUST in Kakamega awaits the following weekend.
Wasps coach Bramwel Omwangu and his Machine rival Ramsfield Matekwa exuded great confidence as they unveiled their match day troops on Friday morning.
For Omwangu, fitness and endurance will carry determine who carries the day on Saturday. The tactician is keeping his cards close to his chest but promises to go all out in the game scheduled to be played at UoN grounds without fans.
“All I can say is that we are well prepared and will strive to get past our opponents and reach the next level. The main target is qualifying for Kenya Cup,” he offered
Matekwa on the other hand will be enjoying home advantage but is cautious about his charges getting complacent. “There are no favorites in the game. It is one game and the best team on the day will progress,” he said
Duncan Kioko will be the center referee with Moses Ndungu and Linus Kinuthia running on the touchlines.
