For the first time in HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series history, the fans get to choose the Dream Team.
Dancing rugby partners Alvin ‘Buffa’ Otieno and Jeff Oluoch have earned nominations to the Vancouver 7s Dream Team after Kenya’s impressive run in the first series outing that saw the side finish in second place behind South Africa.
In Kenya’s impressive run to the finals Buffa proved invaluable to the team as he touched down seven times for Shujaa – the tournament’s second highest tries scored over the weekend. Only South Africa’s sensational talent Angelo Davids beat Buffa with his record breaking ten tries in a single tournament. On top of the tries, Buffa had the third best clean breaks in the tournament with his seven breaks.

Despite suffering a shoulder injury in the finals, Oluoch joined Buffa in the nominations as he propelled Kenya in the territorial front after recording among the highest carries in Canada.
Joining the Kenyan duo in the 14-man list will be Canada’s Brennig Prevost and Jaack Thiel, South African pentagon of Angelo Davids, Ronald Brown, Ryan Oosthuizen, Dewald Human and Zain Davids. USA captain Kevon Williams, Ireland’s Conor Philips, Great Britain couple of Max McFarland and Tom Bowen also earned nominations.
For the first time in HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series history, the onus will be on fans to choose the HSBC Dream Team. The Dream Team will be made up of the seven players (three forwards and four backs) who receive the most votes from the public.
