This will be Northern Suburbs’ first match of the season that is expected to end on Saturday 5 March 2022. The third fixture originally planned between Topfry Nakuru and Homeboyz has been postponed.
Mwamba began their campaign with a 38-13 win over Topfry Nakuru on Saturday 27 November while Ruck It started on a losing note, going down 98-7 to Yamanashi Impala Saracens on the same date.
The launch of the women’s league in November pointed to a new dawn for women's rugby in Kenya and promises to create a wide pool of talent in the longer version of the sport where Kenya has struggled to impress continentally and internationally.

Initially, local women's rugby teams have only played in seven-a-side and 10-a-side competitions. The sevens national team, Lionesses has qualified for World Rugby Sevens Circuit as well as at the Olympic Games and the introduction of the Kenya Cup league is aimed at having the 15’s national team compete internationally.
Mwamba Rugby Club has played a pioneering role in the introduction of women's rugby in the country since 2006. Having taken part in Rugby Africa Women's Sevens Cup for the first time in 2008, Kenya Lionesses won the title in 2018 in great style by beating the highly ranked South Africa to the trophy.
