Leos won the 2022 final 15-10 against the Bankers
Loius Kisia's Strathmore Leos caused a huge upset at the ongoing Christie 7s as they beat current table toppers Kabras Sugar RFC 7-5 to make their first main cup final in the 2023 National Sevens Circuit that is in the fourth round.
The varsity side got through to the championship decider via the narrowest of margins as only a conversion by Osumba Stephen to Nygel Amaitsa's try proved to be the difference in the low scoring affair.
This was after they had to come from behind to get the job done as Jone Kubu produced some brilliant footwork in chasing down his grabber kick before touching down.

The missed conversion however proved to be costly for them as Leos ended their streak of appearing in every main cup final in the opening three outings.
"It is definitely a good feeling to make our first cup final and the boys are excited to defend our title against KCB," Kisia said.
The result set up a repeat final of the 2022 Christie 7s where Leos beat KCB 15-10 to clinch the title.
It will also mark the second time the two sides face off in the tournament with KCB having recorded a 40-0 thumping over their opponents in the group stages and also carrying a better head to head record in recent games.
"The game against KCB is just a mental game now that the team have to overcome. My only job is to guide them on how to do it because you cannot coach it.
It has not been easy and it is something that has been there over the years. Leos always come close against KCB but we never just manage to get over the line most of the time.
But just like we did last year in winning the 2022 Christie 7s, we need to have a strong state of mind and to be clinical because KCB punish any mistakes out there," Kisia noted.
The Bankers broke little sweat in setting up the clash as they beat Nakuru 33-7 in the other semifinal courtesy of tries from Samuel Asati, Austine Sikutwa, Elvis Namusasi and a Brian Wahinya brace.
"We have been missing out on making the finals unluckily because I have seen how my team work really hard so today was just about redemption.
The good thing about the match is that it is a repeat final and we have reminded ourselves that it is a tournament we lost to them and we are going to come all out against them.
Our game plan has worked so far, so we just need to stick to it," Andrew Amonde said.
