The varsity side are currently in fourth place on the standing with two games to go and two playoff slots available
Strathmore Leos head coach Louis Fadhee Kisia has set his sights on a third-place Kenya Cup finish as the 2021 top-flight rugby season boils towards its business end in the coming weeks.
With current log leaders KCB, who are the defending champions, and second-placed Kabras Sugar automatically securing their place in the playoff of the Kenya Cup courtesy of an unassailable point difference, Kisia has intimated his desire to lead the club that got promoted back to the top flight this year to the two remaining semifinals slots by finishing in third place.
It was a close call at the NAC grounds.

Currently, after playing eight games that have resulted in three wins, one draw and four defeats this season, the varsity side find themselves sitting in fourth position on the log on 20 points, one behind third-placed Menengai Oilers who got the advantage and leapfrogged into third place after narrowly beating them 28-26 in a league match played at Nakuru’s Athletic Club on Saturday.
With only two games to go before the round-robin group matches conclude, the head coach called on his side to shift back their focus to their targets in the run in to the season.
“A championship team has to work week in week out to give good results. We know areas that we need to rectify our mistakes and we will work on them. Our objective this season, which the boys know, is to make it to the semifinals as the third seed,” the head coach told Mozzart Sport.

“We are not there yet. The stakes are high. If you snooze you lose because you might find yourself even in position eight. We have to keep working,” the coach added.
