They started with a 24-19 victory over Homeboyz before stretching hosts Quins, eventually losing 19-22. They would then see off Daystar Falcons 24-7 to emerge the best of a three-way tie that saw Quins finish second and Daystar third, despite the trio all winning two matches and losing one.
Circuit leaders Kabras Sugar were perfect on day one, winning all three of their matches to top Pool A and reach the cup quarters along Nakuru.
