Shujaa legend Humphrey Kayange elected one of KRU directors

The ex-international was elected into office alongside Leslie Mangale
Kenya sevens legend Humphrey Kayange has been elected as one of the directors at the Kenya Rugby Union.
Kayange garnered 18 votes during the exercise, which was belatedly conducted on Wednesday.
The ex-international was elected into office alongside Leslie Mangale who amassed 19 votes.
Joining the two in the list of directors is the quartet of Harriet Achieng,Moses Mukabaine,Ochieng Ahaya and John Kilonzo.
The exercise saw the Union get a new Secretary General in Raymond Olendo.
The latter held the rank albeit in an acting capacity but his terms were upgraded to permanent after narrowly beating Oscar Mango.
Olendo pipped Mango to the post by a vote as he secured eighteen votes.
Moses Ndale was elected as vice chairman, flooring Ombui Ratemo whom he beat by three votes.
Ndale ,who came up against Peris Mukoko in the polls that were annulled last year by the Sports Disputes Tribunal secured nineteen votes while Ratemo managed to convive sixteen delegates to vote him in.
Joshua Aroni retained his rank as the Union’s treasurer after going unopposed in the exercise.
Meanwhile, Sasha Mutai is the new chairman.
He ascends to the highest office in the Union unopposed after Joe Onsando withdrew his candidature and after his predecessor Oduor Gangla failed to offer himself for re-election.
