The team is currently placed tenth on the series standings after collecting 5 points in Singapore.

After last weekend’s dismal show for Kenya in the Singapore 7’s national 7’s side Shujaa have been grouped with some of the games top teams for the upcoming leg in Vancouver, Canada next weekend.

Kenya will play Oceanic giants Fiji, European powerhouse England and the enterprising USA in the Vancouver 7’s Group A as this season's HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series approaches the midway point.

The team is currently placed tenth on the series standings after collecting 5 points in Singapore which took their season’s tally to 36 points after the opening five rounds.

At the Singapore 7’s Kenya’s lethargic performance was rounded up by a demoralizing loss to erstwhile minnows Spain as they battled in the semifinals of the run to finish 9th. The team's performance, especially in Singapore is a far cry from past heroics that saw Kenya lift the trophy in 2016 under the late tactician Benjamin Ayimba.

The current set up has struggled for consistency but tactician Innocent 'Namcos' Simiyu is holding on to hope that the team's fortunes will turn around.

The picture is bleak for Kenya as they face a monstrous Fiji who lifted the Singapore leg last weekend in Group A of Vancouver. Namcos' boys have found the going pretty tough against the other pool opponents England and USA and will start the group as the outright underdogs.
