Shujaa commence their 2021/2022 Series Circuit on Friday November 26
Shujaa duo of team captain Nelson Oyoo and his assistant Jeff Oluoch have been given a clean bill of health just days before the national sevens team commence their 2021/2022 HSBC Sevens Series Circuit that is scheduled to start on Friday November 26 in Dubai.
The two Kenyan internationals did not take part in the Safari Sevens tournament that the team was using as a part of its preparations for the new Series Circuit after being sidelined through various injuries. Head coach Innocent ‘Namcos’ Simiyu however revealed that the two are now fully fit and available for selection.
“The preparations have gone well and everything on the injury front is cleared. Oyoo and Oluoch are now back to full training with the team,” the head coach revealed.

Having had an impressive outing in the shortened 2021 Series where the team ended up finishing third in the overall standings after finishing second and third in the two legs held in Vancouver and Edmonton respectively, Shujaa will be keen to build on those podium finishes that they followed up with lifting the 2021 Safari Sevens tournament.
In Dubai, Kenya have been pooled in Group B, otherwise termed as the group of death, alongside Olympic bronze medalists Argentina, 2019 Series Runners up the USA who are under the tutelage of former Kenya head coach Mike Friday and series regulars Spain.
