Innocent Simiyu's charges have progressed to the final of the 9th-16th place playoffs.

Kenya national men's sevens side, Shujaa bounced back to victory with a 25-7 win over Germany in the 9-16th place semi-finals playoffs of the Seville 7s.

Shujaa have posted patchy results, winning only once in the Seville leg of the HSBC World Seven Series that came against Canada and suffered the heaviest defeat against Australia and Scotland.

Germany on the other hand had two wins having won the 9-16th place quarterfinal playoffs against Wales with their only Pool win coming against Jamaica, having suffered defeats to Argentina and Ireland.

After poor handling skills in the previous game, Kenya turned on the style against the Germans with a beautifully orchestrated team try that ended with Billy Odhiambo touching down.

Kenya should have added the second try almost immediately but after another move that saw swift and intricate passes, Nelson Oyoo could just not collect an offload from Billy Odhiambo.

Germany made them pay for the miss as from the move they went on to bag their first try of the game with Jack Hunt running from the halfway line and slipped through Vincent Onyala’s attempted tackle.

Kenya responded again in the end to end encounter with Nelson Oyoo showing Hunt what he can do, he can do better as he went on a lung-bursting run to touch down between the sticks to go into the halftime break leading 1-0.

Alvin Otieno scored a signature try as he fended off three Germans who attempted to stop him but to no avail as Kenya extended their lead to 17-7.

Germany just had no answers to what Kenya was throwing at them as Jeffrey Oluoch sliced open their defence to touch down and showed off the Seville fans a glimpse of his magnificent dance moves as Shujaa coasted to victory.
