
RWCQ2023: Kenya Simbas to face Algeria in semifinal clash

The last four clash will be played on Wednesday in Marseille.
The national rugby 15s side, Kenya Simbas, will meet with Algeria in the semifinals of the 2022 Rugby Africa Cup which also acts as the African qualifying tournament to the 2023 Rugby World Cup set to be held in France.
On Saturday, the Paul Odera coached side successfully kept their hopes of qualifying for a World Cup tournament for a first time ever alive when they pummeled eternal rivals Uganda 42-7 in their quarter final clash staged at the Stade Maurice-David in Aix-En-Province, France.
In that match, John Okoth bagging a brace as Simba ended Uganda’s World Cup hopes whilst getting the bragging rights in the East African Derby.
Algeria on the other hand secured the date against Simbas after beating Senegal 35-12 in their quarterfinal encounter. Kenya’s semifinal against Algeria will be played on Wednesday 6 July at the Stade Pierre-Delort in Marseille.

The North Africans defeated Senegal 33-12 in their quarter final clash to book progression.
Namibia will face Zimbabwe in the other semi.

The other semifinal will see rivals Namibia and Zimbabwe face off against each other in a mouthwatering battle. The Zimbabweans defeated Cote D’Ivoire 38-11 in their quarter final clash to set up the match as Namibia thumped Burkina Faso 71-5.
The two sides will clash at the Stade Maurice- David on Wednesday.

In the ongoing tournament, only the winner is assured of an automatic spot in the 2023 Rugby World Cup where they will join hosts France, New Zealand, Italy and Uruguay in Pool A.
The losing finalist will be forced to secure their ticket to RWC 2023 through the Final Qualification Tournament to be played in November this year.
