The game kicks off at 1800 EAT, ad will be seeking to build on their win against Uruguay on Thursday
Kenya 7s national team; Shujaa will be hunting for a second win in the 2024 Olympic games when they lock horns with Samoa in the ninth-place playoff slated for Saturday, July 27 at 6:00 pm.
The Kevin Wambua-coached side secured their sole victory following a 19-14 victory over Uruguay to proceed to this stage.

They started their campaign on a low by losing all their pool matches.
The Kenyans kicked off their pool matches with a 31-12 loss to Argentina before going down 21-7 to Australia. They suffered a humbling 26-0 defeat in the hands of Samoa to extend their eight-year search for an Olympic pool game victory.
This is not a new statistic for the Kenyans as they lost all their pool games during the 2016 and 2020 Olympic games.

It is safe to say that the two sides are now familiar opponents. This will be their third meeting this year.
Their first meeting this year was on May 31 during the HSBC SVNS promotion qualifier match when Kenya ended their eight-match losing streak after beating them 19-12 thanks to Patrick Odongo’s brace.
Samoa then bounced back on July 25 to blank Shujaa 26-0 in the final Olympics pool match. Shujaa will be keen to beat their opponents to end their campaign at position nine.

Since 2020, the two sides have met 10 times. Samoa dominated the majority of the matches winning nine out of ten matches.
At the same time, the 2024 Paris Olympics quarterfinal pairings have been released.
