Leos will be hoping to make a return to the Kenya Cup playoffs.
Strathmore Leos are enjoying the form of their lives after winning three consecutive Kenya Cup matches with coach Louis Kisia setting his sights on the playoffs.
Leos put Top Fry Nakuru to the sword on Saturday with a 44-5 pummeling that saw them pick up their third win on the spin after victories over Blakblad and record Kenya Cup champions Nondescripts.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Kisia noted that after garnering promotion the team had a target of making it to the playoffs and also opened up on the reason behind their scintillating form.

“We started this season by first clinching the Championship trophy unbeaten which earned us promotion to the Kenya Cup, our main aim as a University was to reach the playoffs, it will be an added advantage if we go past the playoffs,”
“It all boils down to the numbers we have good depth at the moment, early on into the season when we played against Kenya Harlequin and Nondies we did not have most of our starters in the front row, being a university most of the boys had gone for internships out of Nairobi but they are back,” said Kisia.
The top six teams in the Kenya Cup standings qualify for the playoffs with the top two teams securing a direct semi-final slot.
Kisia was particularly impressed with the opening half display of the boys that saw them score five tries, claiming an early bonus point.

“Our systems worked especially in the first half, we have been lacking in the second half because we do a lot of contact in the first half but this week we definitely trained on position territory and it worked magic in the first half as we managed to get give tries,”
“In the second half, because of fatigue the scorers were not as we expected but we thank Nakuru for making the trip to Nairobi, I know they are also rebuilding but at the end of it all we will take the win,” added Kisia.
