Homeboyz have now suffered back to back defeats.
2018 Enterprise Cup champions Homeboyz RFC went down 37-24 to an impressive Menengai Oilers on Saturday with head coach Oscar Okaron noting that the team is hamstrung by front rows.
The Deejays have now suffered back-to-back defeats after going down to KCB RFC last weekend which marked their first defeat of the season.
Okaron was impressed with his charges despite suffering a loss to Oilers and admitted that his problems in the team lay in the front row positions.
“We played really well, despite not preparing for the season well, it was an abrupt season. We had initially pulled out but we came back and despite losing I can say my boys played well.
We had issues in our front rows which we are planning to sort out and once we deal with that then we will be good to go and compete for the cup,” said Okaron.
Homeboyz had a blistering start to the season, claiming wins over Strathmore Leos and Mwamba RFC but they look out of steam and will welcome the Kenya Cup festive break.
With their next clash coming against reigning champions Kabras RFC in January, Okaron was confident that his side is going to bounce back from the back-to-back losses.
“In our next game we are going to come back strong, we are Homeboyz and we are not going to relent, we are going to play for the jersey,” added Okaron.
