The Nakuru-based club will contest for their maiden Kenya Cup final.
Menegai Oilers pulled one of the greatest upsets in recent Kenya Cup matches after stunning KCB RFC 17-24 with their fly-half Geoffrey Ominde sending a strong statement of intent ahead of their final against Kabras Sugar RFC.
Oilers have been growing from strength to strength since earning promotion to the Kenya Cup back in the 2017/2018 season and suffered only three defeats in the regular season against KCB, Kabras and Nakuru RFC.

The Nakuru-based club will contest for their maiden Kenya Cup final against the 2016 champions who have suffered heartache at the hands of KCB, losing the last four successive finals.
Ominde who had a 100% kicking record in the semi-finals against KCB, insisted that they will be out to claim their maiden Kenya Cup as they will stick to the tried and tested methods ahead of the final.
“We are definitely going for the trophy, it's a big one and I can't say we will change much, all the things that were working for us we will continue working on them and maybe do better,” said Ominde.
The flyhalf had six successful kicks in the semi-finals staged on Saturday and had eight kicks in the regular-season game against the Bankers with his boot being a real asset to the Oilers side.
Ominde reserved high praise for the players who played their hearts out in the KCB clash and was confident of his kick going into the final against Kabras.

“This victory goes to the 23 lads who we were with on the pitch, the shift they put deserves a big kudos but I'm lacking words of how grateful I am.
Kicking is a route and that is something you have at the back of your mind, it's something I do week in week out and I'm very confident about my kicking going into the final,” added Ominde.
