Impala Saracens missed out on promotion after finishing fifth in the regular season.
Record Kenya Cup champions Nondescripts RFC will be hoping to get back to the top tier at the very first time of asking when they take part in the 2022/2023 playoffs for the second tier Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship.
Having been relegated last season alongside Impala Saracens, the 17 time champions managed to give themselves a chance of regaining immediate promotion back to the Kenya Cup after finishing top in the Championship ahead of Daystar Falcons, Kisumu and South Coast Pirates who are the other three teams to book their tickets to the semifinals.

Needing just one more win to complete their mission, the team will face off against fourth place finishers Pirates at the Ngong Road Racecourse with the winner of the semifinal match gaining promotion to the Kenya Cup.
In the other last four clash, second place finishers in the regular season Daystar Falcons will host Kisumu at the Strathmore University grounds in Madaraka.
Daystar have been in the second tier for only one season - their debut campaign - after gaining promotion from the Nationwide leagues. Kisumu on the other hand will be seeking to finally return to the top flight after two seasons in the second tier.
The Championship matches will kick off at the same time with the Kenya Cup encounters that have been planned for Saturday 4 March.
Defending Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar will host Kenya Harlequin in Kakamega while KCB will be up against Menengai Oilers in Nairobi.
The junior Eric Shirley Shield playoffs will also be taking place on Saturday but will start early.
KCB who finished first will face fourth placed Menangai Oilers while second placed Kabras take on Quins who finished third.
