Lionesses defeated Tunisia before they got a thrashing from South Africa.

Kenya Lionesses started off their Dubai 7's campaign on a high, seeing off Tunisia 10-5 in the first match of the Dubai 7's in the International Invitational Women's category that took place on Thursday, 1 December 2022 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Lionesses scored two tries through Christabel Lindo and Jean Bisela. Their joy was however cut short later in the afternoon when South Africa Development silenced them 31-0.

Dennis Mwanja’s charges triumphed yet again in their last pool match, overpowering France Development 19-14.

The last time Lionesses met France Development was in the 2019 Dubai 7's final where France edged them 10-0. The Lionesses went home with silver, and they were keen to better their performance after three years.

According to the coach, this match was a gauge of his charges' strength, and the defeat was a show of the team's growth.

"Meeting France, which is a seasoned side, will be a very good measure for us because that is the level we aspire to reach. " He said.

The Lionesses will face Australia A on Saturday 2 December 2022 at 9.20 am.

The men's side Shujaa managed to hold Australia to a 19-19 draw in the opening game before they went down 27-12 to South Africa. Up next is Great Britain at 7:18 PM.
