The game kicks off at 1600EAT.

The women’s national rugby 15s team take on neighboring Uganda Cranes in a do or die Pool B clash at the Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku hoping to secure a victory that will keep alive the team’s hopes of reaching a first ever Rugby World Cup tournament.

With the 2022 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup acting as the first stage of the Rugby World Cup 2025 qualifiers, the Dennis Mwanja-coached side need to win their match against Uganda in order to continue with their historic journey as only pool winners qualify for next year's Rugby Africa Women's Cup which will be played in a tier system.

Having already secured a 36-17 win in their opening clash against Zambia over the weekend, the Lionesses will be seeking to get the job done against the noisy neighbours who also secured a similar score line victory against the Zambians a week ago.

Heading into the clash, there are a total of five changes to the squad with Mwanja handing starts to the experienced Knight Otwoma in the front row, Diana Kemunto at blindside while handing a full test debut to prop Natasha Emali in the forward department.

Jean Bisela starts at right wing with Prisca Nyerere slotting into the outside center position in the backs department, changes the head coach is hoping to have the desired effect.

“As we head into the Uganda game, we have adjusted our set pieces and have got clarity in our attacking and defensive structure. We have also addressed the issue of getting the backs more involved in the game and we expect all 15 starters to hit the ground running,” he remarked.

The game kicks off at 1600EAT.
