Kenya U20 rugby team; Chipu team manager Philip Wamae has landed a new role as the new Head of Academies and Tournament Director at Dream Believe Achieve (DBA) Africa.

He is well-known for his strong leadership and commitment to fostering rugby talent at the grassroots level.

In his new position, Wamae will oversee the development of age-grade rugby across DBA Africa’s academies and tournaments.

His primary focus will be enhancing rugby programs in Nairobi, as well as expanding DBA’s reach through satellite academies and partnerships in the Rift Valley, Western, and Coastal regions.

During his time as the Kenya U20 Team Manager, Wamae guided the team through challenging preparations and helped maintain confidence leading into competitions such as the Barthes Cup and the U20 World Rugby Trophy.

I look forward to working closely with the academies across the country and nurturing the next generation of rugby talent in Kenya. This is a great opportunity to ensure that young players get the best resources, coaching, and development opportunities,” he said.

This announcement comes on the heels of DBA Africa’s recent partnership with Japanese corporate Wazi-Wazi, which will further fuel the growth of rugby development in Kenya.

The partnership is set to provide invaluable resources to support the Nairobi-based academy and build on the existing academy and tournaments organized by DBA.

DBA Africa’s academy programs continue to thrive, with training sessions held every Sunday at Kenton College in Nairobi.

These academies are a cornerstone of DBA’s efforts to provide structured training environments for young athletes and to promote rugby as a tool for personal growth and community development.

DBA Africa is committed to the development and promotion of rugby in Kenya and across the continent.

Through academies, tournaments, and partnerships, DBA provides young athletes with opportunities to grow their talent, receive high-quality coaching, and compete at both national and international levels.
