Following that, the Jerome Paarwater-coached side suffered a narrow 35-28 loss against Namibia's Windhoek Draught in their last away match on Saturday 13.
Headed to this nerve-wracking encounter, the Simbas had everything to play for, backed by a noisy home support in Nakuru. They were keen not to let down the energetic vibe of the fans.
The Simbas dominated the lineouts and scrums which were their opponents' weak points.
Musoga Jeanson was the first to register his name on the scoresheets with a five-pointer that was converted by Ntabeni Dukisa. Boosted by the first try, the Keyans played on, and from the lineout, they quickly formed a scrum and Captain George Nyambua was off with his first try of the match. The conversion attempt was unsuccessful.
The visitors would then respond with a try from Patrick Macling. The conversion was successful.
Kenya managed the third try of the match thanks to Alfred Orege but conversion attempt hit the posts to see the score at 17-7.
Musoga Jeanson then scored his second try of the match that was converted by Dukisa to see the scores climb to 24-7 before half time.
In the closing half, the Kenyans scored through Samuel Asati and Ibrahim Ayoo which were converted by Ntabeni Dukisa to see the scores at 48-7 before the sound of the final whistle.
Paarwater and his assistants; Carlos Kyatwa and Curtis Olago have now shifted focus to their encounters with Valke and SWD Eagles which will all be played at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi on May 27 and June 3 respectively.
