Kenya Morans whitewash Old Georgians to set date with Zimbabwe in Zambezi Challenge 7s final

Kenya Morans booked their spot in the Zambezi Challenge 7s final in emphatic fashion, after dismantling hosts Old Georgians 61-0 in a one-sided semifinal clash played on Sunday, 9 November in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The dominant performance maintained Morans’ incredible defensive record, as they are yet to concede a single point since the tournament kicked off.

The Kenyan side set the tone early, with Victor Mola slicing through the Old Georgians’ defence to open the scoring inside the first minute.

Rayvon Ambale then punished a passing error to double the lead, before converting his try to make it 14-0.

From a scrum, Ambale turned provider, setting up Dennis Abukuse for the third try, as the Morans went into halftime with a commanding lead.

The second half saw the Morans pick up right where they left off.

Abukuse crossed the line again moments after the restart, with Ambale adding the extras.

Ambale later created another scoring opportunity for John Okoth, before Jackson Siketi’s brilliant counter-attack added to the tally.

Floyd Wabwire joined the party with another converted try, and two more late scores sealed the 61-0 rout.

Morans will face the hosts, Zimbabwe Cheetahs, in the final.

The Cheetahs reached the championship match after a narrow 24-19 victory over the Pitbulls in a nervy semifinal that was decided in sudden death.
