Elsewhere, league leaders Kabras will host Blak Blad while Pirates meet Nakuru in their first-ever meeting

The 2024/25 Kenya Cup season enters week seven on Saturday 1 February with six matches on the cards slated for various parts of the country.

Menengai Oilers vs Nondies RFC – Nakuru ASK Showground

The Oilers and Nondies face off in their seventh encounter since the 2018/19 season.

Historically, the Oilers have had the upper hand, winning four out of six past meetings, including a 31-18 triumph last season.

Nondies will be eager to settle the score and break the Oilers’ dominance.

Both teams remain unbeaten this season, but their paths to this moment have been different. Oilers put on a dominant display last weekend, dispatching Kenya Harlequin 42-26.

Meanwhile, Nondies have edged out Quins and Impala RFC by the slimmest of margins. This clash will test their resolve as they seek to continue their fine run.

KCB Rugby vs Kenya Harlequin – KCB Sports Club

The Bankers will host Kenya Harlequin in what is anticipated to be a tightly contested affair. KCB remain undefeated, while Quins are reeling from two consecutive losses and will be desperate to turn things around.

Injuries have hampered Quins, with key players such as Lucky Dewald, Leeon Nyang, and Amon Wamalwa still sidelined.

To counter this, they have recruited reinforcements like Arnold Onzere, while Dessaily Wafula is set to make his debut. Their last meeting saw KCB emerge 39-16 winners during the 2024 Elgon Cup curtain-raiser. Can Quins find a way past the Bankers?

Kabras RFC vs Blak Blad – Kakamega Showground

Kabras RFC, the current league leaders, will host Blak Blad in a match expected to test the students' resilience. The Sugarmen, holding the top position by a slim point difference, will be keen to extend their fine run.

Blak Blad, on the other hand, are struggling to secure their first win of the year. Their latest setback came in a 33-22 defeat to KCB during Kenya Cup Week Six.

Facing Kabras on their home turf presents a daunting challenge, but they will be eager to pull off an upset.

South Coast Pirates vs Nakuru RFC – Seacrest Grounds, Diani

Nakuru RFC embark on a long journey to Diani, Kwale to take on South Coast Pirates in a crucial match for both sides. Coach Simon Wariuki has been optimistic about his team’s trajectory, having faced tough opposition early in the season. However, they are yet to register a win and will be eager to break the cycle.

This fixture marks the first-ever meeting between these teams and potentially the last in the top tier, as both clubs face a high risk of relegation. Pirates, who have secured just one victory this season, will look to capitalize on their strong home form to bag another win.

Kisumu RFC vs Mwamba RFC – Mamboleo Stadium

The Lakeside team welcomes Mwamba RFC in what is expected to be a fierce battle. Both teams have only managed a single win this season, coincidentally against South Coast Pirates, and find themselves flirting with relegation.

With both teams desperate to climb out of danger, this is an unpredictable fixture where the result will only be certain at the final whistle. Expect a tense and closely fought encounter.

Impala RFC vs Strathmore Leos – Impala Club

The Gazelles are set to host a struggling Strathmore Leos side at the Impala Club as they chase their third win of the season. Despite their mixed performances, Impala sit comfortably in seventh place with 10 points, while Leos trail in eighth with six points.

The Leos will be buoyed by their recent victory over Kisumu RFC, while Impala are eager to bounce back from a narrow defeat to Nondies in Kenya Cup Week Six. With both teams having plenty to play for, this fixture promises another exciting contest.
