Kabras Sugar welcome KCB to the Nandi Bears in a top of the table clash.
Reigning Kenya Cup champions KCB will host 2016 winners Kabras Sugar in a top of the table clash with the Varsity Derby pitting MMUST and Blak Blad acting as a curtain-raiser to the box office match.
Masinde Muliro v Blak Blad
MMUST take on Kenyatta University’s Blak Bald in the Varsity Derby with the latter in a torrid run of form after losing out to Nondies having won just one game all season which came against a stuttering Mwamba side.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Blak Blad head coach Williams Motto noted that they are out to overwrite their poor run of form and claim bragging rights in the derby.
And it's a double header for the weekend.

“We are going into the game, having come from a period of losses, we are going to take this as a challenge and try to redeem ourselves. MMUST are coming into the clash fresh from a couple of wins as well as a draw and being their debut season, I know they have surpassed their expectations,”
“We are way behind what we targeted at the start of the season, there are a lot of things on offer, first is the pride of the Varsity Derby and we also have the pressure of coming off the bottom of the table,” said Motto.
MMUST head coach Ochieng Ahaya on the other hand reserved some respect for Blak Blad but lamented about playing their home encounter on a neutral ground.

“We are playing a home match away from home, Blak Blad are a serious side, you know they have been in the league for quite some time and have experience, we are going into the game with a lot of respect for our opponents,”
“Our target this season is just to take a game at a time, we have been learning with each team we face. Timothy Masii will be the only injury concern ahead of the game,” said Ahaya.
The clash is set to kick off at 1 PM with the match being beamed live on K24 from Nandi Bears.

KCB come into the clash after a hard-fought 26-13 win over a spirited Top Fry Nakuru as they failed to hit top gear in the game but will hope to back to their devastating best when they take on Kabras.

Kabras sat out of the action last weekend with their last match coming in the 38-9 victory over Menengai Oilers and have scored more than 30 points in every game this season.
The match is slated for a 3 PM kick-off at the Nandi Bears club, fans can catch the game live on K24.
Kenya Harlequin v Mwamba
Kenya Harlequin have also suffered an indifferent season as they have only picked up a single win all season that came against Impala Saracens who were just returning to the Kenya Cup after initially pulling out of the campaign.
Mwamba have endured a similar fate this season with their single win being registered against Top Fry Nakuru and come on the back of a 50-3 whitewash against KCB.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Mwamba head coach Kevin Wambua welcomed back a number of experienced players to the side and has been left impressed with their rebuilding phase.
“Training has been positive, there are a few senior players who joined us. We have been working on getting them fit and a few have made the weekend squad including Steven Sikuta, George Ogola, Tony Owuor, and Felix Otieno,”
“There is some pressure with regards to where we are on the table but I’m glad that we have exposed a number of young players and we have seen that a number of them are capable of playing in the Kenya Cup,” said Wambua.
