Impala and Homeboyz are just separated by a point on the log as the relegation battle intensifies
10-time Kenya Cup winners Resolution Impala Saracens and Homeboyz RFC will all be desperately seeking to secure a precious win when the two sides meet at Jamhuri Park in matchday 9 of the 2021/2022 Kenya Cup season.
With only three rounds to go before the curtains close on the regular season, the Sarries and the Deejayz find themselves very much in the relegation battle as they sit in 11th and 9th respectively on the league standings. Impala sitting in second last on 10 points, one shy of safety, as Homeboyz sit fourth last on 11 points, just one above the chop zone.
Heading into the match that promises to be a bruising contest, both teams will know the importance of a win if they are to maintain their top flight status.

At the KCB Sports Club, defending champions KCB and Menengai Oilers will face off in the pick of the fixtures as the second placed side welcome the Gibson Weru coached outfit who are in third.
Both sides come into this tie in fine form, KCB have 36 points off 7 wins and 1 draw while Oilers are just three points adrift after notching up 7 wins and that solitary defeat to leaders Kabras Sugar a fortnight ago.
With playoff qualification already in the bag, the outcome of this fixture could determine who secures a home semifinal on March 5.
For KCB, they began the calendar year well, looking imperious in victories against Impala, Nondescripts and Masinde Muliro before Kenya Harlequin and Mwamba posed serious questions to the bankers, something that head coach Curtis Olago will be keen to rectify ahead of Saturday’s clash at home to the Oilers.

For Weru’s Oilers, they are, by their own standards, and in the eyes of many an outsider, having a blinder of a season and will look to recover from that blip against Kabras Sugar to pick up their first ever Kenya Cup win over KCB.
