
Kenya Cup enters match day 2 as KRU Championship and Nationwide leagues commence

Six matches are lined up in the Kenya Cup as Championship and Nationwide leagues kick off
Six matches are lined up for Saturday 4 December as the top flight Kenya Cup rugby league is set to enter matchday 2 in the 2021/2022 campaign.
Over the weekend, record Kenya Cup Champions Nondescripts, who lost their opening game of the season to sophomores Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, will begin life at their new home venue at the Ngong Racecourse with a clash against Kenya Harlequin who will be brimming in confidence after their 29-20 win over Impala Saracens in the Ngong’ Road Derby.

Table-topping Kabras Sugar will be aiming to continue with their high flying start to the season when they travel to Nakuru to take on Topfry Nakuru while reigning champions KCB will want to keep up with Kabras’ pace when they take on varsity side Blak Blad at Kenyatta University.
In other matches, Mwamba will play their first home match of the season when they welcome Strathmore Leos at the Impala Club. Resolution Impala Saracens will take on Menengai Oilers as MMUST take on the returning Homeboyz.
Elsewhere, the second tier Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship campaign will get underway alongside the third tier nationwide league. In the championship, the competition will be played on a one-off, round-robin basis with the top four sides qualifying for the semis with the final set for Saturday 19 March 2022.

Shamas, winners of the third tier KRU Nationwide league begin with a clash away to former Kenya Cup side Kisumu while Kabarak, runners up in the third tier play away to another former Kenya Cup side, Western Bulls.
Three-time Kenya Cup Champions Mean Machine start their quest for a return to the top tier with a home clash against the Catholic Monks as Northern Suburbs host the University of Eldoret Trojans.
Egerton Wasps and Eldoret face in Njoro as USIU Martials take on the South Coast Pirates in Nairobi.
