The team will now face England at 1859EAT for a shot at the the final.

The men's national rugby 7s side, Shujaa, put in a near faultless performance to sail through to the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens Challenge Trophy semifinals following a convincing 24-5 victory over Scotland on Saturday afternoon.

The team, who had dropped to the Challenge Trophy following their Round of 16 exit at the hands of Argentina on Friday, made amends with tries from Herman Humwa, latest centurion Billy Odhiambo, Vincent Onyala and skipper Nelson Oyoo doing the damage against Scotland who only pulled one back through Kaleem Barreto.

Right from kickoff, Shujaa straight away looked the part as they looked to get an early advantage in the match.

Just three minutes in, their early dominance would pay off when one of the heaviest players on the pack Humwa bulldozed his way past the Scottish defense as he made a clean line break before dotting down under the posts to make an easy conversion attempt for Sammy Oliech who added the extras to give Kenya a 7-0 lead.

A well executed scrum move saw the Damian McGrath currently coached side manage to extend their lead as Kevin Omondi picked the ball and attacked the blindside, catching the Scotland players off guard.

His offload squared the ball to Oliech who easily beat his marker before squaring the ball to Odhiambo who landed at the corner for a 12-0 lead following a missed conversion.

Just before half time, KCB ace Onyala ensured Shujaa went into the break with a 17-0 lead as he landed a try of his own.

In the second half, Shujaa kept their feet on the gas pedal as they continued creating the gap between them and the opponents.

Another clever scrum move squared the ball to Oyoo who spotted a gap before confidently attacking it and beating two men as he touched down for Shujaa's fourth try that was not converted to get the scores to 24-0.

In one rare attacking moment, Scotland managed to beat the Kenyan players with a quick transition as Kaleem Barreto raced for the try line with no marker in sight.

A determined Onyala was however not letting up as he covered the full distance of the pitch before producing one of the best try savers of the tournament when the Scotland player was just inches from scoring.

Kenya got a scrum as a result of the knockon offense but a mistimed pass enabled Barreto to touch down the loose ball as Scotland got on the board.

That would however prove to be the closest they came as a determined Shujaa, who were later reduced to six men, held on for the 24-5 victory.

The win now sees Shujaa take on England for a place in the Challenge Trophy final.
