The Ngong Road side booked a ticket to the Mwamba Cup quarters with the victory

Despite their senior team suffering relegation from the Kenya Cup, Impala Saracens II showed a glimpse of some bright future in the side after a 50-10 whitewash against Kiambu Rugby in the Mwamba Cup staged at the Impala Club on Saturday.

The rift between the two sides were massive and it only took less than a minute for a gap to open up as Anderson Oduor muscled his way into the try box with Johnson Waiganjo adding the extras from close range.

Kiambu Rugby just did not have answers for whatever Impala threw at them as they extended their lead in the 10th minute from a well worked try that ended with Johnson Waiganjo touching down but he missed his kick this time.

The game ceased to be a contest in the 14th minute when Churchill Obat created his own space and turned the Kiambu Rugby defense inside out to bag a try of his own making.

Kiambu finally got onto the score sheet in the 20th minute from a set piece line out that ended up with a penalty for offside as David Okuta quickly restarted the ball and touched down.

Impala however restored their emphatic lead in the 25th minute when Mark Akide put the ball over the line after drawing two defenders and fending them off with a hand off to ensure Impala went into the half time break with a 24-7 lead.

Impala picked up from where they left from in the first half as they took only four minutes to get another try through Tariq Ngige after Anderson Oduor gained 40 meters from his own half but Churchill Obat was unselfish handing Ngige the try from inside the try box.

The flood gates were open in the second half as Impala continued to pile misery on Kiambu Rugby with a try in the 56th minute through Samuel Maina who touched down on the left flank after an off load from Johnson Waiganjo.

Impala did not take their foot of the gas as they continued to compound Kiambu Rugby's woes with Elly Mboya bulldozing his was through the try box using sheer strength as Waiganjo converted his kick from the left channel for an impressive kick.

Kiambu put some respect on the scoreline when they converted a penalty through the boot of Samson Omondi.

Silas Ochieng drilled the final nail in Kiambu Rugby's coffin by squeezing his way into the try box corner as Waiganjo again worked his magic for a 50-10 scoreline.
