The clash marked the third meeting between the two sides this season, with Shujaa having edged the Nairobi leg in extra time before Germany responded with victory in Montevideo.
With the stakes high, Kenya came into the encounter determined to assert dominance early and boost their chances of a top-three finish.
Germany drew first blood in just the second minute, as Jakob Dipper beat Festus Shiasi on the outside to score, with the successful conversion handing the Europeans a 7-0 lead.
Shujaa, however, wasted little time in responding. Patrick Odongo latched onto a perfectly weighted kick from Samuel Asati to score, and the conversion levelled matters at 7-7.
From the restart, Kevin Wekesa secured possession, setting the platform for Kenya to build phases of play before Shiasi’s long pass found Vincent Onyala, who touched down and added the extras for a 14-7 lead.
Kenya’s confidence continued to grow, and they stretched their advantage to 21-7 when co-captain George Ooro released Odongo, who sliced through the German defence to grab his second try of the match.
Shujaa maintained control after the break, pinning Germany deep in their half and forcing a turnover. Onyala capitalised on a short ball to dive over for another try, extending the lead to 26-7.
The East Africans kept their foot on the gas, retaining possession from the restart before shifting play wide to Ooro, who sprinted over to make it 31-7.
Dennis Abukuse then capped off a dominant team performance, bursting through the defence to score under the posts and seal a commanding 38-7 victory.
Even with a temporary setback after Wekesa was sent to the sin bin, Shujaa remained composed, showcasing discipline and control to secure a perfect start to their São Paulo campaign.
Meanwhile, Kenya women's national rugby sevens team, Lionesses, endured a disappointing start, falling 19-12 to Argentina in their opening match of the tournament.
