Kenya national rugby sevens teams - Shujaa and Lionesses - on Thursday learned their opponents in the third round of the HSBC Challenger Series after being placed in Pool C of their respective stand-alone tournaments in Munich, Germany and Krakow, Poland respectively.

Both tournaments are set to take place on the weekend of 18-19 May 2024.

Kevin Wambua’s side after two rounds, are second on the men’s standings with 83 points, and will seek to remain within the top four places to secure a place in the promotion and relegation play-off competition - SVNS Grand Final - in Madrid from 31 May 31 to 2 June 2024.

Leaders Uruguay are in Pool A, and will face Germany, Georgia and Papua New Guinea.

Neighbors Uganda, who are eighth in the standings, will on the other hand take on Tonga, Mexico and Hong Kong China in Pool B.

In the women’s draw, Kenya Lionesses, who were bundled out of contention early to finish eighth in Montevideo, will in Pool C face Belgium, Poland and Mexico, as they seek to improve on their fifth place on the overall standings.

Table toppers China headline Pool A, which will have Hong Kong China, Thailand and Czechia, while Uganda - occupying fourth place in the table - will tough it out with second placed Argentina, Paraguay and Papua New Guinea.
