The women’s coaching panel will be announced soon

The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has revealed the coaches who will be in charge of different franchises during the much-anticipated 2024 Rugby Super Series.

Kabras RFC forward Maxwell Adaka will coach the Buffaloes franchise. Adaka will be supported by Felix Ayange and Edwin Achayo.

The Buffaloes are based in Kakamega and will comprise Kenya Cup defending champions Kabras RFC, Kisumu RFC, and former Kenya Cup side Catholic Monks. They will turn up in white and blue jerseys.

Former Kisumu RFC tactician Lawrence Buyachi will lead the Cheetahs and will be assisted by former Nakuru RFC coach Simon Wariuki. The Cheetahs will be based in Nakuru town.

They will comprise 2021/22 Kenya Cup finalists Menengai Oilers, Nakuru RFC, and former Kenya Cup side Homeboyz RFC. Their jersey will be red and white.

In Nairobi, Kenya Harlequins coach Paul Murunga and Nondies RFC coach Callum Oliver will lead the Rhinos. Murunga has a history of winning the tournament as a player with the Buffaloes in 2005 and the Lions in 2008. He will be keen to use his past experience to guide his team to glory.

Rhinos will be made up of clubs along Ngong Road; Kenya Harlequins, Nondies RFC, and varsity side Strathmore Leos.

The Lions will be under the tutelage of Oliver Mang’eni who will be assisted by Benard Kibet. KCB Rugby, Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad, and Mwamba will make up the Lions squad. They will don in green and black jerseys.

The women’s coaching panel will be announced in a subsequent communication.
