Sudi will take over from outgoing chairman Michael Wanjala

Former Kenya 7s and Kenya 15s captain Victor Sudi has been elected as the new chairman for Kenya Cup side Kenya Harlequin. This is after a new set of officials were elected during the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Saturday 30 July 2022.

Sudi, will take over from outgoing chairman Michael Wanjala with immediate effect while Felix Ochieng will deputize Sudi after being voted in as the Vice Chairman.

Onespol Gachanja was named the new treasurer while Rosemary Korir will be the club’s new secretary. Korir takes over the secretary’s position from the outgoing Stanley Omino.

“Congratulations to the new Kenya Harlequin FC Executive Committee voted in at the AGM held at RFUEA on Saturday 30 July 2022. Chairman: Victor Sudi, Vice chairman: Felix Ochieng, Secretary: Rosemary Korir, Treasurer: Onespol Gachanja,” the club confirmed on its social media channels.

“Our thanks to outgoing Chairman Michael Wanjala and outgoing Secretary Stanley Omino for their dedication to Quins and a smooth transition,” they added.

The new leadership will be tasked with turning around the fortunes of the club that have been on a steady decline. In the just concluded season, the team just missed relegation to the second tier Kenya Rugby Union Championship by a whisker courtesy of a head to head advantage over Impala Saracens who ended suffering the chop.

The team have already appointed former Kenya 7s head coach Paul ‘Pau’ Murunga as their new head coach to try and steady the ship ahead of the new Kenya Cup season.
