The knockout cup tournament sees eight sides battle for a place in the last four.
Five-time Enterprise Cup champions KCB RFC will continue with their bid of ensuring they do not end the 2021/2022 15's season without any trophy when they welcome Kenyatta University's (KU) Blak Blad RFC in a Cup quarterfinal encounter set to be staged at the KCB Sports Club on Saturday afternoon.
Having lost out on the Kenya Cup title to Kakamega-based rivals Kabras Sugar RFC, the Bankers only have the Enterprise Cup to redeem themselves this season.
However, standing in the way of the Curtis Olago coached side at the moment is a charging Blak Blad who will be out to borrow a leaf from giant slayers Menengai Oilers who showed, in the Kenya Cup semis, that beating the rugby powerhouse is truly a task that is achievable.
However, for that to happen, the KU boys need to understand the magnitude of the task at hand, especially against the hurting 'Simbas' who will be out to devour anything that stands between them and the cup.
Already having missed out on the chance to even feature in the league final altogether following their semifinal exit against Oilers, retired Kenya 7s skipper Andrew Amonde, while reiterating his team's ambition to go all the way in the knockout competition, urged his troops to focus on taking one step at a time.
"As a team, we have done everything possible for us to be able to beat Blak Blad. We are giving it our all because this is the only lifeline and the only chance at a trophy we have this season. That is why we want to end the campaign in the best way possible by getting the trophy.
We did not get to play Blad in the ended season but we have watched them play and they are an exciting side. We just have to take care of our business and keep our heads down as we take our approach game by game," the experienced player told Mozzart Sport.

While KCB will be taking part in their second cup game after knocking out Strathmore Leos in the pre-quarterfinal, Blad will be playing their first match as they were handed a walkover against Mombasa RFC in the previous round.
Kabras Sugar vs Nondescript
Away from Nairobi, newly crowned Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar, who are also the defending Enterprise Cup champions, will begin their title defense when they welcome Nondescript RFC at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday afternoon.
Having ended the six-year wait for a league title, the Jerome Muller-coached side will be hoping that this is also the same season they get to achieve a rare double in their history.

Back in 2019, Kabras crushed Impala Saracens 37-7 in the final to win their maiden Enterprise Cup title at the RFUEA grounds but the competition was not held in 2020 and 2021 owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Sugar Millers were handed a walkover against Mean Machine in advancing to the quarters while Nondies eliminated Western Bulls.
Both matches kick-off at 1500EAT.
