Enterprise Cup: Nakuru seeking semi-final berth against Impala

The clash is slated for a 3 PM kick-off at the Impala Club.

After both teams battled relegation for the better part of the Kenya Cup season, Top Fry Nakuru RFC will be looking to compound Impala Saracens’ woes in the quarter-finals of the Enterprise Cup on Saturday.

Impala came off a grueling 24-17 win over Kenya Cup finalists Menengai Oilers in the Round of 16 after the Nakuru-based outfit fielded a second-string side.

Oscar Osir’s side will be hoping to dump Nakuru-based sides in successive Enterprise Cup games and end their season on a high after suffering relegation from the Kenya Cup in the just-concluded campaign.

Nakuru RFC head coach Felix Oloo admitted that he expects a fiendish clash from Impala but will be out to secure victory, noting the importance of grabbing a win.

“For us, it has always been one game at a time, we know Impala are a good side despite them being relegated. They are going to run hard at us and they will kick a lot and go for penalties but we are prepared.

Victory will be key for the players because they took a long time to gel but getting a win away from home will give them the momentum they need at the moment and even for future games,” said Oloo.

Nakuru will be fresh after getting a walkover in the Round of 16 clash against Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) who failed to show up.

The clash is slated for a 3 PM kick-off at the Impala Club.
