According to KRU, the festival is designed as a platform to nurture competition and growth. It will offer a vibrant showcase of the rising strength of women’s rugby in Kenya and forms a key pillar of the KRU Development Department’s wider mission to expand the women’s game and establish clear, sustainable development pathways for female players across the country.
The competition format will see teams contest the pool stages before progressing to the plate semi-finals and main cup semi-finals.
From there, sides will battle it out in the plate finals as well as the third-place playoff, all culminating in the main cup final, where the tournament champions will be crowned.
A total of ten teams have registered for the festival and have been split into two pools of five.
