Kabras RFC head coach Carlos Kyatwa has attributed the team's success this season to the remarkable family bond cultivated within the club. The team has registered 70+ past their opponents in all their matches played since the campaign began.

Kabras kickstarted their campaign with a 72-12 victory over the struggling Kisumu RFC before defeating Nondies RFC 40-0. They ended 2023 with a 78-0 triumph over the Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) Monks.

Under the tutelage of Kyatwa, Kabras started the year with guns blazing humbling Homeboyz RFC 71-6 before their 87-3 win against Mwamba RFC. Their recent win was an 88-3 drubbing of the Strathmore Leos.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport after the emphatic win, the tactician said that the players, coaching staff, and support personnel have forged a close-knit family that fosters an encouraging environment both on and off the field. He also credited his charges for their zeal and dedication to training, noting that it is working wonders.

"It is happy when we start winning like this. Happy days for us. It just complements the hard work the players are putting in training. We are extremely happy when we put an effort like this and when we break down that game in different sectors and when we find out that departments we are executing according to play," he averred.

Despite their dazzling victory, the coach refused to be carried away, noting that the end of each match set the beginning of yet another match. He further explained that their main aim was to qualify for the playoffs and eventually manage a home final.

"It is more like a win every game but we do not want to get ahead of ourselves. As I said before this is a marathon, not a sprint. There are a couple of games still left, big games. We are just happy that we are working towards our goal which is having a home final. When we reach our last game, I feel like every aspect of the game will have been touched on during these smaller games. I am very impressed with the boys," he offered.

The coach also proudly acknowledged the improvement in the team's defensive capabilities, noting that discipline on defense was speaking louder.

"Good defense wins games," he disclosed.

He further assured that they would be giving each player playing time to groom the younger players.

"The first season I got here I told you guys that we are creating a culture within the club. Now, we have a very good culture. We have decided to work on our principles and values. We play for each other, there is no selfish play. Playoffs is a very different play game," he concluded.
