New Zealand will face Fiji in the semis on Sunday while Shujaa will take on Scotland in the 5-8th place semi.
The men’s national rugby 7s side, Shujaa, will not be returning home with any silverware hanging around their necks as they were knocked out of medal contention by defending champions New Zealand who defeated them at the main cup quarter final stage of the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games.
In that last 8 clash, Shujaa’s dreams of making it to the main cup semis were crushed as the All Blacks handed them a 31-0 thumping to successfully march on with their title defense with Reagan Ware bagging a brace in the victory.

Shujaa had managed to weather the early storm from the All Blacks put it proved to be short-lived as McGarvey Black breached the Kenyan defense to open the scoring for his side who went 7-0 up following a successful conversion.
Two minutes after the first half whistle had sounded, Ware scored the first of his two tries to give his team a 12-0 lead at the break.
His second try of the game ensured the gap stretched to 19-0 following a successful conversion before two more tries from Scott Curry and Dylan Collier powered New Zealand to the 31-0 victory.
