The game is slated for a 10:56 am kick off on Sunday 11 December.
Following another disappointing outing this time in the Cape Town leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, Shujaa will face a plucky Ireland side in the 9th-place quarter-finals.
Shujaa are enduring an abysmal start to the season where they are yet to pick up a single victory in the Pool matches of the series, leaving them without a Main Cup appearance.
In Cape Town, Kenya 7s opened the tournament with a 19-5 loss to Argentina and followed that up with a 31-5 thumping at the hands of New Zealand, and closed the Pool matches with a 5-5 draw against Spain.
Damian McGrath’s side have shown tremendous improvements in their performances after a horror show in Hong Kong but results have not still been forthcoming.
Against Ireland, Shujaa will be hoping to polish up their attack after failing to register more than a try in all the games this weekend.
Ireland who have been on an upward trajectory since earning their core team status arrived in Cape Town brimming with confidence after finishing as the runners-up in Dubai but failed to make the Main Cup cut this weekend.
A shock defeat to Uruguay who were promoted this season in the final Pool game ultimately cost them a place in the Main Cup quarters after another 21-14 loss to Samoa.
Their only victory in the tournament came after a 19-5 win over Japan and will be looking to redeem themselves to put points on the board as they currently occupy fourth on the overall standing which is just enough to secure an Olympic qualification in 2024.
